"Towards Efficient Utilization of Biomas"
Malaysia has a huge potential of playing a major role in the production of biofuel and other value-added products such as biocomposites, fibreboards, pulp and paper, biofertilizers and green chemicals from its 17 million tonnes of oil palm empty fruit bunches, 4.5 million tonnes of oil palm trunks and 1.35 million tonnes of rice straws generated per year. Research and development (R&D) of such products from these biomass resources have been initiated by Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) and other institutes, and these activities are set to intensify in the future.
To find out the latest R&D findings and explore the use of such resources, join the Seminar on Biomass for Biofuel and Value-Added Products to be held on 27–28 October 2009 at The Saujana Kuala Lumpur. Themed “Towards Efficient Utilization of Biomass”, the seminar co-organised by FRIM and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) aims to highlight the availability of biomass, discuss issues affecting biomass resources and share the latest R&D results with the private sector, industrialists, policy-makers and researchers. There will also be an exhibition of the latest products, technologies and services.

Escape into Nature, Escape into the Good Life Watch the beauty of nature unfold right before your eyes at The Saujana, Kuala Lumpur.
This experience is a testament to the hotel’s name, which originated from the old Malay expression “sejauh di sana” or “as far as the eye can see.” When you gaze at 160 sprawling acres of lush gardens, you’ll realize that you have finally found an oasis away from the urban grind. More than just seeing, though, at The Saujana you also feel the refreshing comfort nature brings.
