Managing Director of Trade-Link Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd, Albert Lai said, “Whilst businesses in 2009 have been affected by the weakening of the global economy as well as the global calamities such as the outbreak of H1N1, the business sectors especially the manufacturing industry is looking forward to an improvement in business activities in 2010. With renewed optimism for a recovery in the economy, the business confidence of various industries in Malaysia has increased and is beginning to flourish again.”
Initiatives have been taken by the Ministry of International Trade & Industries to promote the activities of manufacturing related services which include operational headquarters, regional offices & distribution centres, international procurement centres, representative offices, research and development (R&D), design and prototyping, technical or vocational training, integrated logistics as well as market support services, integrated market support services, integrated centralised utility facilities, total chemical management system, cold chain facilities and services for food products, as well as environmental management.
Lai added “The manufacturing industry in Malaysia has constantly been a major player in the economic growth. Malaysia's well-established distribution channels, integrated infrastructure, and highly-skilled workforce have made the country an attractive destination for development and investment, particularly in the manufacturing industry. METALTECH has been the regional manufacturing industry’s trading and networking platform since its inception in 1995, surviving financial crises, and economic downturns as well as weathering pandemic diseases. This event in 2010 will once again gather the largest congregation of movers and shakers of the industry under one roof, to seal business deals.”
METALTECH 2010 is expected to play host to more than 1,500 exhibiting companies, an overall increase of 30% from METALTECH 2009, as well as making this year the largest METALTECH in its history. The show covers a total exhibition area of 30,000 square meters (gross), and expects to attract over 20,000 visitors locally and 5,000 visitors from around the world. METALTECH 2010 also welcomes back the country pavilions from Taiwan, Singapore, Austria and Busan.
With the renewal of the agreement on the co-location of MTA into METALTECH 2010,between Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd and Trade-Link Exhibition Services, the event will continue to be the biggest manufacturing event in the region. MTA is the 7th Malaysia International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition organised by Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd. The renewed agreement for 2010 marks the 5th year of synergistic partnership between Trade-Link Exhibition Services and Malaysian Exhibition Services in presenting an unprecedented event for the metalworking industry.
Billed as the mega international machine tool and metalworking exhibition in Malaysia, METALTECH is the most anticipated event for manufacturers and metal industry players from around the world to showcase and source for metal work, machine tools, CAD / CAM, metrology, mould & die, surface & heat treatment, sub-contracting, foundry, industrial automation, robotics, precision engineering and welding technology and products.
