The Symposium in 2010 is an effort to introduce the Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime that has been held annually at Jesus College, University of Cambridge for the past 27 years, to be held in Kuala Lumpur as a chapter for relevant stakeholders in the Asia Pacific region. The Regional Cambridge International Symposium (RCIS) aims to offer delegates an experience in understanding the real issues involved in preventing and controlling economically motivated serious crimes.
Delegates will hear from renowned speakers and authoritative experts in their relevant fields. Many of these speakers are regular presenters of the Cambridge International Symposium held annually in United Kingdom.
The theme of the RCIS “Attaining Corporate Resilience Through Governance And Integrity” is consistent with SSM’s function under the Companies Commission of Malaysia Act 2001, in promoting corporate governance, proper conduct and integrity amongst corporate players and for adoption and internalization by SSM regulatees comprising of approximately 875,000 companies as well as 4 million businesses in Malaysia.
The RCIS will be officiated by the Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak on 23 June 2010 and at the Gala Dinner, delegates will hear the Former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammed delivering a lecture entitled “The Global Corporate Debacles of the 21st Century : Building Corporate Resilience Through Governance And Integrity”
The RCIS which comprise of 9 Planery sessions, with 25 distinguished role-players, will raise thought provoking issues and debates on current cases of corporate collapses that had resulted to unprecedented economic crises in 2008/2009. Delegates can expect stimulating discussion, dialogues and benefit from the sharing of experiences from specialists and experts on matters relating to:
